Another growth check appointment. We got the same tech as last time. Very nice, very efficient, but way too fast for me. I feel robbed of an opportunity to see the babies since she blows right through everything. Not so much cooperation again from these two. A profile of Ava is first, followed by a profile of Jacob. His is a little hard to make out because he was pressing his face right into the top of the placenta like he was trying to make a break for it. They're both still doing great and still right on track for growth.
Ava is weighing in at 2 lbs. 11 oz this week, a full 1 lb gain from the last appointment. Jacob is in at an astounding 2 lbs. 10 ozs. An almost 1.5 lb gain. We were very excited to see him catching up to his sister.
They are both crazy active, kicking and rolling like they're in some kind of soccer match. Many times my stomach looks like waves in a waterbed going from one side to the other while they jockey for space. Jacob kicks much harder than Ava and he likes to thrust his behind up as hard as he can so Ian or I can rub it for a few minutes.
They're still both head down which is great
news because there are only a few weeks left that they'll have any room to switch positions so we're still hopeful that they'll stay the way they are.

They weren't very cooperative for those either. Ava's is to the left. It's kind of like a "Where's Waldo" trying to figure out what's what, but her nose is smack in the middle of the picture. Her right eye just left and slightly upwards from her nose, and her little frowning lips right below her nose. All the extraneous stuff in the photo is just bits and pieces of her current digs and not so much a part of her.
Jacob's photo was even harder to capture. He was still determined to push himself upwards as far as he could so all we got on him was a 3-D profile. Woo. Not exciting at all. I think his left-facing profile is pretty easy to make out - forehead, nose, upper and lower lips, and chin. Again, woo.
So another appointment in 4 weeks and can you believe it, I'll be in my 32nd week then. Everything has sped by so quickly, but we are eager to meet these two.
