Some folks know, some don't so here's the update. I, and the twins, am fine, but we did have to spend a day in the hospital last week. Luckily I had driven into work that day so I had my car with me. I had thrown up that morning, and I didn't pay much attention to it, but I felt off. I went to work anyway and a half hour into my day the contractions started - and continued about 5 minutes apart. I made it to the hospital by 7 am and 4 hours later they had stopped the contractions (and loaded me up with 2 liters of fluid via a very painful IV). They kept me an additional 4 hours to run all sorts of tests before they finally discharged me. The attending physician told me to stay home until I could meet with my regular OB so there it was for the next week.
So, lucky I had my car and could quickly get to the hospital, but unlucky because Ian was out of town. Things are much scarier when your other half is absent. At my follow-up appointment yesterday my OB told me that I was out of luck for returning to work and that I was to nap and keep my feet up as much as possible. Can do. It's so hard getting behind the wheel of my car lately that I embrace the thought of being a shut-in for a little while. Fortunately, Ian is back in town for a while and he's a champ at running errands for me.
More pictures next Friday and a lactation consult on Wednesday.
